An arson attack was to blame for a major fire which took hold of a derelict building at the old Wednesfield High School campus overnight, fire chiefs have revealed.
The blaze started in the dining hall area of the building, which had been due for demolition.
Fire crews were called to the scene in Lakefield Road, Wolverhampton, shortly after 6pm yesterday.
They managed to get the blaze under control within two hours, and stopped it from spreading to other parts of the building.
Two crews currently remain at the scene damping down.
