Teenager arson arrest after derelict mill fire in Oldham

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested following a large fire at a listed derelict mill in Oldham.

The blaze broke out at the seven-storey Bailey Mill on Delph New Road on Tuesday, leading to residents nearby being evacuated and roads closed.

The teenager has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life, and has been bailed pending further enquiries until 19 July, police said.

The building was gutted in the fire.
