Insurance fraud woman set fire to own pet shop with 27 puppies locked inside

A woman who set fire to her own pet shop with 27 puppies locked inside to claim insurance fraud has been jailed.

Gloria Lee was caught by the shop’s CCTV footage which appeared to show a hooded figure moving through the shop, before setting sheets of newspaper alight.

Thankfully, the animals escaped unhurt after the sprinkler system kicked in and managed to extinguish the fire as emergency services alive.

The 36-year-old was sentenced to 5 to 14 years in state prison.

But she stunned the courtroom in Las Vegas when she told Clark County District Court Judge David Barker on Wednesday that she’s three months pregnant.

Prosecutor Shanon Clowers says Lee will have her baby in prison.

Lee pleaded guilty in October to arson, insurance fraud and attempted animal cruelty charges in a plea deal that had 28 other charges against her dismissed.
