Heathfield old mill fire ‘started deliberately’

A fire which destroyed a derelict mill in East Sussex was probably started deliberately, investigators have said.

Eight crews tackled the blaze in Station Road, Heathfield, on Saturday night.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service scaled back the operation in the early hours and have been dampening down the area.

A joint investigation carried out with Sussex Police found the mostly likely cause of the fire was arson.
