Guests evacuated from Southport hotel after a Fire breaks out

A fire broke out in the Nile Hotel, Southport just before 11.30pm last night.
All the guests were safely evacuated. A 23-year-old male resident was taken to hospital suffering from moderate smoke inhalation after attempting to put out the fire.
The fire started in a bedroom on the first floor of the hotel.
An investigation into the cause of the fire will be carried out by the fire service.
Wirral Fire recommends when staying in a hotel or guest house that you should make yourself familiar with fire evacuation procedures (normally by the bedroom door) and never tackle a fire unless safe to do so.
