Firefighters working to put out mountain fire

Police have closed the Sychnant pass in the Snowdonia National Park due to a large mountain fire which started on Saturday night.

Firefighters have atteneded a large gorse fire on AlltWen mountain in Conwy which broke out on Saturday night.

There were four crews at the scene working together to bring the fire under control.

North Wales fire and rescue service received the first call on Saturday evening around 10.45pm and remained at the scene until early morning.

There is no information yet about what might have caused the fire above Dwygyfylchi.
