Fire In Pizza Shop Extinguished, Breck Road

Firefighters extinguished a fire in a pizza shop.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 7.44pm on Tuesday, November 5, to Breck Road, Anfield.

Watch Manager Peter McCarthy, who attended the call-out with firefighters from Liverpool City Community Fire Station, said: “It was a well developed fire and crews worked really hard to tackle the flames. We had four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus inside the building.

“A high pressure hose was used to tackle the fire in the shop initially. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus also carried out a search of all four floors of the building to make sure no-one was inside.”

There was severe fire damage to the ground floor of the shop. The first, second and third floor were also damaged by smoke.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.

A fire appliance from Liverpool City Community Fire Station and one from Old Swan Community Fire Station. Firefighters had left the scene by 10.12pm.
