M25 Staines car fire closes three lanes as footage shows Audi engulfed in flames

Three lanes near Junction 13 for Staines have been closed because of the smoke from vehicle blaze

Footage shows a vehicle engulfed in flames on Thursday lunchtime near Staines on the M25.

Three lanes were closed due to smoke blowing across the road from the vehicle blaze which started just after midday.

Lane two, three and four (of four) on the anticlockwise carriageway at junction 13 A30 were obstructed.

There were reports traffic was managing to get past in lane one and the hard shoulder.

Highways England tweeted: “Be aware car fire closing 3 lanes M25 clockwise at J13 in #’Surrey, @SurreyFFRS heading to assist, Expect delays! 1 lane remains open.”

It is understood Surrey Fire and Rescue crew members were called to the scene at 11.53am in two fire engines from Chertsey and Sunbury.

The vehicle is believed to be an Audi.

It was reported at around 12.45pm that the fire has now been extinguished.

Video and a picture of the incident was posted by @JoeWhiteLondon.

Thames Valley Police’s road policing unit have also tweeted images, show that the car was completely devastated by the fire.
