Wirral Fire Protection

Wirral Fire Protection was established in 1992 predominantly to provide quality fire extinguishing equipment and service at an affordable price. Over the years we have developed a sound understanding of what most responsible business owners required from their fire safety provider. To comply with UK legislation in the most cost effective and minimilistic manner and in a way that does not compromise safety or leave them open to litigation in the event of a fire situation.

On the 1st October 2006 the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into force. The RRFSO repealed or ammended virtually all previous fire safety legislation. Fire certificates, which many owners, managers and organizations came to rely upon were scrapped. Management of all aspects of fire safety became the responsibility of the business owners, landlords, property managers etc. The roll of the fire service was enforcement. There is still much confusion and anxiety particularly in the higher risk sector (where there is a sleeping risk) such as nursing homes, hotels, houses in multiple occupancy etc as there was and still is little infrastructure in place providing the right guidance.

Understanding the impact this would have on many of our customers and so as to ensure their needs were met we formed an alliance which led to the employment of two recently retired highly experienced former Merseyside Fire Service fire safety officers both of whom were well versed with the RRFSO. By September of 2006 we were able to add fire safety consultancy, fire risk assessments and fire training to our portfolio. Since that time we have made giant strides moving into fire alarms, emergency lighting and pat testing with our on line shop due to open in November 2008.

We are an ISO 9001 quality accredited organisation. Our extinguisher technicians are BAFE ST104 accredited. We are also members of the Fire Protection Association (FPA). We are listed in the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) consultants directory. We are members of the Independant Fire Engineering and Distributors Association (I.F.E.D.A.) of which I am on the commitee giving me a say in many associated British Standards prior to approval by the ODPM.
