Large fire breaks out at Lye recycling yard

A large blaze broke out at a recycling yard containing plastics and foam in Dudley.

Some 70 firefighters tackled the flames off Rufford Street, close to Lye railway station from midday.

Black smoke could be seen for miles around and people living nearby were advised to keep windows closed.

West Midlands Fire Service said the fire was under control and crews had been scaled back while damping down continued.
