Woman rescued from early-morning house fire in Glasgow

A woman has been taken to hospital after being rescued from a house fire in Glasgow.

Firefighters were called to the property on Broomhill Drive in the city’s west end at around 5.10am on Thursday.

They helped the woman out of the two-storey building where she was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.

Her condition is not known at this time.

Three crews have been battling the ground floor blaze with six breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.

A fire investigation team is at the scene and Broomhill Drive was closed in both directions between Crow Road and Norby Road for several hours.
