Salford school closed after fire

A Salford primary school will be closed for the rest of the week after a fire on Wednesday evening.

Four fire engines were sent to tackle the fire at Bridgewater School, Little Hulton, yesterday evening.

The fire is believed to have been in the sports hall and an outhouse.

Firefighters were at the scene for around three hours. It is believed the fire was started deliberately.

A statement on the school’s website says: “Due to an incident, school will not be open Thursday or Friday. Please check the school website for any further updates.”
