Man critical after catching fire at Glastonbury Festival

The Great Western Air Ambulance was called out after a man caught fire at the Glastonbury Festival site

A man has suffered ‘significant’ burns after catching fire at the Glastonbury Festival site this evening.

South Western Ambulance Service spokesperson Melanie Glanville has confirmed that a man in his 20s had been airlifted to a hospital in Birmingham from the site at Worthy Farm in Pilton.

The Great Western Air Ambulance and crews from across the West Country were called to the site at 5.09pm after reports that a man was “on fire”.

The man was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where there is a specialist burns unit. He is said to be in a critical condition.
